The Director General of the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency, Dr Abdulrazaq Garba, just called for thorough investigations into the recent explosion that occurred at Ilu Abo, near Akure in Ondo State on the 28th March, 2020 around 1am.

There have been many stories to the cause of the explosion. Some have said that the explosion was as a result of a truck filled with explosives,some have said it was a terrorist action while some on social media say it was a meteorite
In a statement in Abuja on Thursday, Garba lauded the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, for setting up a joint investigations team to probe issues surrounding the incident. Garba said the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency would support the investigation with its technical and human resources.
